Who I Am

Healthcare That Starts With Listening

For more than 30 years, Dorie has built her career around one simple belief: people deserve to feel heard. Her approach to healthcare begins by listening—not simply treating a symptom, chasing a lab value or adding another medication, supplement or treatment.

She takes a whole-person approach, combining traditional medical knowledge with integrative care to understand why someone doesn’t feel well and what may actually help them feel like themselves again. Her goal isn’t to offer everything available. It’s to recommend what each person genuinely needs—and sometimes, that means taking something away rather than adding something new.

More Than 30 Years in Healthcare

Dorie’s perspective has been shaped by more than three decades of hands-on healthcare experience. She began her career as an EMT, then became a medical assistant, Registered Nurse, Family Nurse Practitioner and ultimately earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice.

Along the way, she has worked in emergency care, on the streets, in inpatient settings and in outpatient medicine. Each role added another layer to the practitioner and leader she is today—along with mentors who taught her to ask better questions, think critically, trust her clinical judgment and never stop learning.

Helping People Feel Like Themselves Again

Many of the people who come to Dorie know something isn’t right—even when they’ve been told everything looks “normal.”

Her work focuses on connecting the dots between hormones, thyroid health, metabolism, lifestyle and overall wellness, rather than treating each concern in isolation. She works to understand what may be keeping someone from feeling well and develop an intentional approach to improving health, strength, energy and quality of life as they age.

The transformation she wants for the people she serves goes beyond numbers on a lab report. She wants them to understand their bodies, feel confident advocating for their health and recognize that getting older doesn’t mean simply accepting that they’ll feel poorly or lose their quality of life.

A Different Approach to Wellness & Integrative Medicine

Dorie understands the skepticism that can surround wellness and integrative medicine—and she believes good care should earn trust.

Her approach respects both evidence-based medicine and the value of looking beyond disease treatment alone. Hormones, metabolic health, nutrition, lifestyle and prevention can all be part of the conversation while still respecting science, appropriate treatment, risks and limitations.

For Dorie, the question is never simply What can we offer? It’s What does this person actually need? That means being willing to say when someone doesn’t need another supplement, hormone, medication or treatment—and referring elsewhere when something falls outside her scope.

Leading With Love

The philosophy behind Dorie’s work is deeply personal. Her faith guides the way she approaches her patients, her business and the people around her, with love, kindness, compassion, honesty and humility.

The principle she returns to is 1 Corinthians 16:14: “Let all that you do be done in love.”

For Dorie, that means serving rather than selling, helping people feel seen and respected, mentoring others and making decisions based on what she believes is truly in someone’s best interest.

Taking Up Space

Here’s something people may not expect: Dorie is a huge introvert.

Networking, public speaking, social media and walking into rooms full of people she didn’t know did not come naturally to her. Over the past several years, she has intentionally pushed herself beyond that comfort zone—finding her voice, becoming more visible and learning to take up space in rooms she once might have avoided.

And somewhere along the way, she learned something worth sharing:

“Being an introvert doesn’t mean I have to play small.”

Today, Dorie wants to be in rooms with strong, successful women who challenge and encourage one another—women with big ideas who genuinely want to see other women succeed. And as she continues to learn from those rooms, she wants to help create them for the women coming behind her.

What’s Next

Dorie is looking for opportunities to speak, teach, collaborate and connect around healthcare, hormones, metabolic health, women’s health, leadership and entrepreneurship. She’s particularly interested in meaningful collaborations with other female entrepreneurs and business owners where women can support, promote and learn from one another.

Because after more than 30 years in healthcare, Dorie isn’t finished growing.

She’s simply interested in making sure that as she does, she brings other women with her.
